Yesterday we shared some darling images shot by Lyndsey Fagerlund of our little peanut 4th of July party and today we are talking all about fun + easy finger foods you can serve to your little ones that they will love! It doesn’t take much to make this menu look appealing with some easy presentation tips!
We had to so much fun playing outside with the big flag that these little peanuts were pretty thirsty! We made special sprite drinks mixed with festive blue berries and strawberries for a little pop of color and excitement! You can also use water if you are not much of a soda drinker!
We made these personal sized mini chip bags by cutting off the top of brown paper bags with scalloped edged scissors. Added a little star stamp and filled them with ruffled chips! These mini bags are so so easy to make and the perfect portion size for your little party guests to snack on! We served tator tots but it would also be darling to serve mini corn dogs as well!
How dang darling are these mini star PB& J’s? We sure think so and they are also a huge hit with the little ones! Changing regular foods into fun shapes makes them more interesting and intriguing for little appetites! TIP: when making shaped sandwiches you will want to use a metal cookie cutter for better cutting and also cut out each bread layer shape first and then fill it with the goodies. This will help to keep the bread from tearing and give you a good shape.
Watermelon is a must have at any of our summer picnics and BBQ’s! To do something a little different then the every day cut up slices we used a mini star cookie cutter to cut out little festive shapes and then slid a popsicle stick in them to make watermelonsicles! So fun and easy to eat!
For desert we made mini jello parfaits that are not only incredibly cute to look at but delicious too! We uses this layering jello recipe and topped it off with blue berries and a maraschino cherry! These mini fruit glasses are the perfect size for small hands and the perfect touch of sweetness!
We hope these fun food recipes inspire you for your 4th of July festivities! What are some of your favorite dishes to serve at your summer parties? Check back here tomorrow and we will be sharing a darling little craft perfect for the holiday weekend!
