There really is no greater or older holiday tradition then baking cookies and decorating them with your little peanuts. There is something about frosting a sugar cookie and putting candy and sprinkles on it that kids just go crazy over! And they will actually sit down and hold still for a few minutes so that’s a bonus! The best part about baking and decorating cookies is that it’s a super easy project you can do at home with your little ones to get them excited for the holiday! Have fun letting them cut out holiday shapes using cookie cutters and then let them go crazy with colored frosting and sprinkles! The little peanuts at our Valentine’s Day party had a blast decorate their own heart shaped sugar cookie with a variety of candies and adornments.

One tip: if you are going to let your little ones use sprinkles to decorate their cookies make sure to have a broom handy because they do get everywhere! But they are oh-so-fun and worth the mess! So mommas, get your bake on and let your kids have a little fun during this cold weather decorating their own Valentine’s Day cookies! Wrap them up in a cellophane bag, add some cute string and you can also give these as gifts to daddy or to grandma and grandpa!
