Last week we had the amazing opportunity to attend + host a mini party at Alt Summit at the Grand America in Salt Lake City. Our week was filled with meeting so many new creatives, bloggers and brands. It’s such an amazing community of people and we are so happy to have been able to be apart of it all! On Friday night we hosted a mini party with JoAnn Fabric & Craft Stores where over 300 guests attended our party and had the chance to paint their very own watercolor art.
To prep for the party we spent a lot of time creating our watercolor painting photo backdrop by painting tons of small pieces of watercolor paper. We wanted this to be a main focal point in the room and of course a great place to take pictures in front of! Pretty much everything we created in our room was made from supplies from JoAnn’s! It was so amazing to get to work with them because we already buy most of our craft and party supplies from our local JoAnn’s Store. We created custom table runners and watercolor inspired fabric drapes behind the tables. We did this by using fabric from JoAnn’s and then dip dying them with different colored fabric dye to create a watercolor/ombre look.
For the tables we enlisted the help of our friend Amber Reverie Floral to design the floral arrangements on the tables. We wanted our guests to feel like they were coming to a sit down dinner but instead sitting down to a place setting of paints, paint brushes and a canvas to paint on. We also created cool geometric wooden shapes that we spray painted gold to add a cool modern touch to the tables. (We will be sharing a tutorial on how to make these yourself very soon!) Add in a couple pretty geodes and crystals and you have the perfect setting for an adult painting party!
