It’s no secret we love holidays around here and love hosting parties even more! Today we are featuring our Valentine’s Day Kid Party editorial full of inspiring ideas for your next party! For this table top design we decided to go with a really feminine + playful look with shades of pretty pinks and pops of gold glitter to change things up a bit from the traditional pink and red color palette. The amazing Lindsey Orton photographed this party perfectly and we have a lot of beautiful eye candy below to feast on!
We wanted floral details to be a big focus for this shoot and Lizy Boden with Lizy’s Lilies did a beautiful job designing the perfect mini blooms in painted gold jars to grace the table. To get this look you first spray paint your jars and vases gold. Once the spray paint is dry, wrap a piece of craft paper around the middle of the vase and tape the ends together to hold it into place. Then spray adhesive around the part of the vase that is showing and quickly sprinkle on your glitter color of choice {we are loving the gold on gold look!} Let that dry for about an hour and then softly brush off any excess glitter with a soft paint brush. Repeat steps above for second coat of glitter if needed.
Lizy also made these crazy amazing heart wreaths that are perfect for hanging on the wall as decor or floating above the table for a more dramatic look! Seriously how beautiful?!
Every little detail is important when planning and designing the perfect party. Don’t forget about the chairs! There are so many fun ways to dress up the backs of your chairs to really tie everything together. To add a little something something to our chairs we tied on gold heart doilies from Shop Sweet Lulu which is so easy to do + adds a lot to the over all look of the set up.
We pretty much tried to use gold glitter in as many places as we could… because seriously, we can’t get enough gold glitter and it really just makes everything look more amazing! We used plain wooden utensils from Sucre Shop and glammed them up a bit! By using white craft glue paint the bottom half of your utensils to the desired height. Sprinkle on your choice of glitter and then lightly tap off the extra. Let them sit for about 30 minutes to set. You can also paint on a light overcoat of clear mod podge to seal in the glitter.
You just have to have heart plates at a Valentine’s Day party! We enlisted the help of our sweet + crazy talented friend, Aedriel Moxley, to create these beautiful ceramic heart shaped plates with a pink ombre glaze. They couldn’t have been more perfect to go along with the theme of the party! We just love how they look sitting next to the gold glitter utensils!
Every party needs sweet treats and a cupcake is a parties very best friend! One Sweet Slice made these sweet pink cupcakes for us and we added a mini gold heart topper to really make them lovely! To do this we took gold glitter paper and used a mini heart punch that you can find at any local craft store to create a heart cut out. Tape the mini hearts to white cooking sticks and insert them into the cupcakes. Easy as that but yet adds so much! The cute white cupcake pedestals are from Shop Sweet Lulu which is one of our favorite places for unique party supplies and goodies!
Did we mention before how much we love gold glitter?! Of course we had to create a special drink that incorporated edible gold glitter. Yep you heard it! If you didn’t know there is edible gold glitter and gold sugar that makes for the perfect garnishment! To create a sprinkled glass rim is so much easier then it might look. First you pour some honey onto a plate. Then dip your glass in the honey so it coats the rim of the glass with the honey. Let the extra honey drip off the rim and then dip the rimmed glass into a plate of edible glitter or sugar. We added a pink lemonade with the same heart punched stir sticks to match the cupcake toppers. The kiddos loved sipping on their drinks and licking the sugar glitter off the rims!
We hoped this little peanut inspired you with ideas to create your own cute Valentine’s Day party! Stay tuned for the rest of this week because we have a lot more fun ideas of the big V Day headed your way!
